ok, it did hurt.

Heather and I made a quick stop to Ikea which turned into an hour “get lost in the store” venture. And near the registers @ Ikea were bins of kid’s stuff: hats, toys, etc., and we decided to try them on and pose for what obviously did not fit us. The black hat especially. My eyeballs are popping out!

WOMEN: do not listen to the new breast care guidelines!

As a young breast cancer survivor diagnosed at 44, I cannot believe the new recomendations are telling women don’t bother with self breast exams. OH don’t touch your breasts, ladies, there’s no need! I personally know two women who went in for mammograms just because they had friends develop breast cancer and thought….hum….maybe I should get checked myself. AND SURE ENOUGH!! lumps found / diagnosis of cancer! One was 35 and the other 42. CRAZY! and they don’t want women getting mammograms? they don’t want women to self-exam? those mammograms and early detection self-exams save lives!!!

Women, do not listen to the new guidelines. They are meaningless - just another OUT for the insurance companies to deny women the health care they really need. Do you think they would tell men DON’T TOUCH YOUR TESTICLES TO CHECK FOR ABNORMALITIES? WTF. Seriously.

Self exams saves lives. Early detection saves lives. More women are living as survivors then ever before. STAY PROACTIVE. STAY DILIGENT. buck that stupid system!

10.21.09. Five Years Ago TODAY i found my tumor. my five year anniversary. can we say YEAH for being cancer free almost. the doctors do not count you cancer free until you reach the 5 year completion of chemo :)
